Cadmos et Dardanos

For several years now I’ve been buying alpaca fibres from an alpaca breeder who lives in Combrailles. As time went by, I started to dream about having my own alpacas on Les Terres d’Hephaïstos.

In 2006, I met Gillian Evieux. I stayed with her briefly in Felletin and was absolutely fascinated by her two huacayos, Cadmos and Dardanos.

And then my two alpacas arrived. At first they seemed hesitant, but they quickly became an essential part of Les Terres d’Hephaïstos. Cadmos the dark one, and Dardanos the albino. After a week with us, Les Terres d’Hephaïstos “troop” was complete: the dogs, the Angora rabbits and the alpacas and, of course, Kissmekate, the cat.

As long as the weather is good, the spinning sessions take place in the garden. There is nothing more relaxing than the company of the animals, the perfume of the flowers, the gentle sound of the water and the motion of the spinning wheel under your foot.
