The workshop

Marion created a workshop in the main part of the farm. That is where sheep, alpaca, angora and dog fibres are transformed into skeins of yarn, mittens, hats, scarves or stuffed toys like a bunny rabbit, a sheep …

If the weather is not good enough to sit outside, sessions may take place inside the workshop..

Marion recreated an old-style spinning workshop in what used to be the bread oven of Terres d’Hephaïstos. There you will learn about the history of wool in Auvergne.
A guided tour for small groups can be arranged by appointment.

Marion also takes her cards, carding machine, spinning wheels and her angora rabbits to give demonstrations in public and introduce beginners to spinning. Among other things, she took part in the “au fil de la laine” demonstration held in Châteauneuf-les-Bains, in intergeneration get-togethers (in retirement homes and primary schools) and in an introductory spinning session in schools (for children as of the age of 8).
